for example, a stochastics is indicator meant for sideways markets
if you use it in trending markets you need other helping filters to avoid getting trapped into big losses.
a stochastics gives more buy signals in diowntrend and gives more selling signals in uptrend markets. when you do both you are screwed up.
trading hates conventional tactics and it punishes traders who go conventional.
